Welcome! Here's a brief story behind this web site and
what you will find here.

My name is Daniel and for three months in the summer of 1999,
I had the pleasure of participating in the Walt Disney World College Program.
This program is an excellent experience, not just for anyone interested in the theme park
industry, or the Disney Company, but anyone who wants to land a good job after college. To
say that you have learned leadership techniques from a Fortune 500 company will easily aid
you into finding a great job as a physician, lawyer, manager, owner, entrepreneur, artist,
chef, or any job that finds you working with people or for people.
During the summer, I worked at the Magic Kingdom as a Park Greeter. This involved anything
from simply passing out maps to assisting guests with tickets, taking their pictures, telling
them about the places to eat in the park, or anything else that can happen at the front
turnstiles.
Disney had set me up in an apartment complex called Vista Way. I was placed into a
two-bedroom apartment with three other guys from around the world. At the complex, there were
two pools, a hot tub, exercise room, tennis courts, basketball courts, volleyball, and other
stuff that made it resemble more of one of Disney's resorts! Plus, I got free transportation
to and from work and the Walt Disney World property.
At the time I took the program, there was a weekly seminar that I would attend that would
teach me the Disney style of leadership and management. This provided to me a great opportunity
to see how the company works internally and how I can apply it to any job that I end up with
after I graduate... as well as any jobs or organizations I join during college. Plus, I was able
to get college credit for it! Now, instead of a weekly seminar, there are real college courses
that have been approved by the American Council for Education which students can apply for
and earn a full semester's worth of credit.
So check the site out and if you have any questions or comments about the site, its design,
or the College Program, please feel free to e-mail me and I will reply as soon as possible!
